Vehicle owners will soon be able to have their own unique Ferguson Valley number plates, as Ferguson Valley Marketing and Promotions Inc prepares for an auction of collectible FV plates following a dinner at Ferguson Hall from 7pm on Friday, October 22. FVMP Board member Turk Ellis, who is organising the auction, says the number plates will be green-on-white with the letters FV, followed by a number up to three digits and will include the Ferguson Valley logo and the winning slogan from a competition earlier this year - “Discover Ferguson Valley”.“The first batch of 30 plates will have collectible numbers, such as from 1 to 11, 20, 22, 30 and 33, which we expect to achieve the highest prices at the auction,” he said. To be part of the auction bidders are requested to pay $300 up front to secure a “bidder’s right”. If the bidder is successful at the auction, the money is paid towards the total bid; if unsuccessful, the money is returned to the bidder.Interested bidders can contact Turk Ellis on turkcrel88@gmail.com, or phone 0413 743 601 to lodge their expression of interest, or you can buy a bidder’s right on the night. All funds raised from the plates auction and subsequent sale of plates will go towards marketing the Ferguson Valley region through Ferguson Valley Marketing and Promotions Inc.The dinner is being organised by the Ferguson Hall committee and for $40 a head will include champagne on arrival, choice of main course, and dessert. A bar will be available. All revenue from the dinner will support the hall committee. The auction will follow the dinner, at 8.30pm.Bidder’s Rights and Dinner Tickets can be purchased from the Ferguson Valley Visitor Centre, 5 Ferguson Road, Dardanup (open Friday-Monday) and the Dardanup Post Office, Charlotte Street, Dardanup. Following the auction of collectible numbers, further number plates will be available at a set price of $300. |
